Bend WebCAM Conference adds some spice: Old Spice
On Thursday, September 30 and Friday, October 1, some of the brightest and most innovative minds in the industry will present in Bend on topics ranging from SEO and social media, to interactive design and creative branding.
AdFed is excited to announce an additional keynote speaker for this year’s conference: Jason Bagley, Creative Director at Weiden+Kennedy and leader of the team that conceived and executed the Old Spice “Smell Like a Man, Man” campaign. Perhaps the most effective TV and viral campaigns ever, Old Spice has generated more than 1.4 billion impressions and counting, and has been featured in media outlets from “The Oprah Winfrey Show” to CNN to the “Today” show.
Bagley’s co-headliner, Mike Geiger, is the Chief Digital Officer at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, the agency known for “Got Milk?” and countless other award-winning campaigns. Geiger will discuss Goodby’s transition from a creative and strategic (but traditional) powerhouse, to an integrated agency in an increasingly digital age. Due largely in part to Geiger’s efforts, Goodby Silverstein was named Interactive Agency of the Year at Cannes in 2009, and was honored as Adweek’s Agency of the Decade.
“We’re stoked to have two world-class speakers like Jason and Mike, who have proven that interactive media can be just as entertaining as traditional media and even more engaging,” said WebCAM 2010 organizer Cam Davis. “And that’s only the beginning, as we have a host of other marketing, social media and SEO experts who will present enlightening breakout sessions and the popular ‘Hot Seat’ website review and critique.”
If that weren’t enough, the Bend WebCAM will culminate with a keynote panel discussion on the History (and future) of SEO. Mark Knowles, owner of Bend-based Pixelsilk (www.pixelsilk.com), will moderate a Who’s Who list of SEO pioneers, including Bruce Clay, Jill Whalen, Marshall Simmonds, Bill Hunt, Shari Thurow, among others. Considered a pioneer in the SEO industry, Clay is the president of Bruce Clay, Inc., author of the SEO Code of Ethics, and principal editor for the Search Engine Marketing Journal.
“Bend has been credited as being one of the birthplaces of SEO, and played a significant role in the evolution of the industry,” said Knowles. “We are fortunate to have such a great group of local and national panelists who will share incredible stories about their beginnings in the SEO field, as well as their insights into its future.”
Taking further advantage of the experts who will be presenting at the conference, Bend WebCAM organizers have brought back the popular “Hot Seat” website critique. The Hot Seat gives business owners the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have their website reviewed by a group of SEO, SEM and interactive design experts. Applications to be among the few sites selected for this priceless experience can be downloaded here and must be submitted no later than Friday, September 10. The fee for those selected is only $399.
Registration, information and schedules for the entire 2010 Bend WebCAM Conference can be found at www.bendwebcam.com. Registration rates are $190 for AdFed members, $290 for non-members, and $180 for students and non-profits. Registration deadline is Friday, September 24. REGISTER NOW
