Bend WebCAM Conference Sept 30 - Oct. 1, 2010: What’s Next in Web, Creative and Marketing?Marketing, SEO and Social Media Thought-Leaders Share Their Expertise During this Two-Day Conference
BEND, OR- August 11, 2010 – Bend WebCAM (www.bendwebcam.com presented by Pixelsilk), the cutting-edge web, creative and marketing conference will be held in Bend, Oregon September 30 – October 1, 2010. Attracting some of the most influential thought-leaders from across the country, this conference is designed to educate and inspire attendees with the latest trends in the new marketing world, including: web marketing, search marketing, social media and SEO, along with the latest in creative and marketing, such as brand management, design and copywriting. As well as an abundance of networking opportunities, including Dine-Around Town luncheons, an evening social event (“Brew Ha-Ha party”) at the Blacksmith Restaurant, and Ignite Bend.
Web and social media is changing the traditional rules of marketing every day. Bend WebCAM invites attendees to explore mind-blowing topics on three different tracks from industry experts (www.bendwebcam.com/speakers). The Left Brain (aka "Geek") track dives into the technical, the logical and cutting edge methods of communication, such as social media, SEO, mobile marketing, etc. The Right Brain (aka "Chic") track focuses on the creative, the emotional, the imaginative messages of communication, including advertising, design, copywriting, brand development, etc. And finally, the Hybrid (aka “Super Freak”) track merges the two ways of thinking into a synergistic gumbo, enriching anyone involved in the Web and Creative & Marketing industries, especially those who realize the inseparability of technology and creativity in a successful 21st Century business plan.
The event’s opening keynote speaker is Mike Geiger, Chief Digital Officer at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners (www.goodbysilverstein.com) in San Francisco. Geiger oversees interactive, digital and emerging technology projects, and has led multidisciplinary teams in strategy, branding, interaction design and development of cutting-edge new media and advertising content for clients, such as Hewlett-Packard, Adobe, Comcast, Sprint, Got Milk?, Gucci and the NBA. His work has won prestigious awards including Cannes Cyber Lions and Clios. Long known as a creative and strategic powerhouse for culture-penetrating TV and print work, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners relied on Geiger to retool itself as a potent force for the digital age. In short order, it was named Interactive Agency of the Year at Cannes in 2009 and ultimately was honored as Adweek's Agency of the Decade. An internationally recognized speaker, Geiger has been a judge at the New York Festivals, the Webbys, the London International Advertising Awards and the Seattle Show.
In addition to a dozen breakout sessions exploring the Geek, Chic and SuperFreak worlds, the Bend WebCAM will bring back its highly popular “Hot Seat” session in which a group of industry geniuses critique various websites submitted by attendees. The conference will conclude with a fascinating panel discussion on “the History of SEO,” featuring several pioneers in the field of Search Engine Optimization.
Returning this year to lead a breakout session on the ever-changing field of Local SEO is David Mihm, President & CEO, www.GetListed.org. Mihm said of last year’s conference, "WebCAM was my favorite conference of 2009--maybe my favorite conference ever. There were several compelling sessions from literally the top handful of SEOs in the country. And I loved the way speakers from related industries like traditional advertising, creative, and branding were brought into the fold. It made for a much richer event than most of those on the typical conference circuit and got some of us online folks to think outside our comfort zone.”
Come for the conference, stay for the vacation. Bend is well known as a mountain get-away with a cosmopolitan appeal and some of the best weather in Oregon. Sun-drenched days and diverse terrain provide endless options for outdoor activities – golf, biking, fishing, kayaking, white-water rafting, and hiking to name a few. Bend is dubbed the "outdoor playground of the West" for a thousand good reasons.
