Adding to an already stellar collection
of geniuses in the Web, Creative and Marketing fields, is Jim Riswold,
former Creative Director with Wieden+Kennedy in Portland. He is our
third and final keynote speaker for the Bend WebCAM Conference, October
15-16 at the Riverhouse Convention Center.
Conference registration is available
now through Friday, October 9. For more information, visit www.bendwebcam.com.
Riswold is a legend in the advertising
world. His award-winning work on the Nike account is one reason he is
commonly considered one of the best copywriters ever. His TV commercials
featuring Bo Jackson, Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods, among others,
revolutionized the way athletes and celebrities endorsed products. These
days, he applies his offbeat humor as a contemporary artist and satirist,
and also serves as an instructor for W+K12, an experimental ad agency
housed at Wieden+Kennedy.
W+K12 is a group of diverse designers, writers and strategic thinkers
who will also be speaking at the Bend WebCAM. (Yes, the entire group!)
This unique artistic collective is named W+K12 because it selects 12
new members every 12 months. The group collaborates on client projects
under the guidance of a managing director and two creative directors.
W+K12 seeks to discover different ways to create together, while serving
as a laboratory for the advertising industry's best practices and newest
thinking.
“W+K12 is an experiment, a school,
a mini ad agency, and an idea factory,” said Riswold. “Above all,
at W+K12, they learn to solve problems.”
Riswold completes a keynote triumvirate
that already includes Tim Girvin, Principal of Girvin/Seattle &
NYC, and Chris Winfield, President & Co-Founder of 10e20 in New
York City.
Founder of GIRVIN Inc., Tim Girvin is
recognized internationally as a strategist, designer, blogger, writer, photographer,
illustrator and calligrapher. As an explorer, commentator and arbiter
of trends, he has spoken all over the world on issues affecting business
communications, branding, corporate identity and the integration of emotional
and holistic sensory content into all aspects of marketing.
Winfield co-founded 10e20 in 2001 in
New York, which has evolved into a full-service search marketing company
