Sisters, OR – April 15, 2009. 

The DesignWorks Group, a firm specializing in book design, was the recipient of 17 local ADDY Awards this year. The ADDYs are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, recognizing and rewarding creative excellence in the art of advertising. Concurrently across the country, approximately 60,000 entrants are vying for recognition as the very best in their markets.

Local wins moved on to District 11 competition, which includes the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.  The DesignWorks Group had seven entries win at the district level. Winning an ADDY at the district level is the second step in competing for a National ADDY award. Over 1,500 national finalists will compete in the National ADDY awards. The national jury chair is Rick Carpenter, president, DDB Chicago, who will lead an illustrious panel of judges as they choose winners from across the country. Judging will take place on May 8-9 in Washington, D.C.

The DesignWorks Group specializes in designing book covers and interiors. They currently serve a broad base of CBA, ABA, AAUP, independent, and international publishing houses. Over the years their work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Print magazine, STEP magazine, Graphis, CMYK, Graphic Design: USA, ECPA, The Chicago Book Clinic, the AAUP, the national American Advertising Federation, and their local Ad Federation.
