(BEND, Ore.)—In preparation for its 50th anniversary season, Mt. Bachelor has selected Bend-based DVA Advertising & Public Relations to manage and assist with the resort’s marketing needs, including brand management, creative development, media planning/buying, public relations and other efforts.
“We felt it was important for our marketing to be handled locally, by a group that is not only familiar with the mountain, but by people who are part of the community and who understand the region,” said Matt Janney, president and general manager of Mt. Bachelor.
Previously, Mt. Bachelor’s marketing efforts were managed by Blakeslee Group in Park City, Utah.
According to Carly Carmichael, director of marketing for Mt. Bachelor, DVA’s integration of public relations into its agency services, as well as experience in the resort, tourism and hospitality industries, were also important factors in the decision.
In addition to Mt. Bachelor, DVA works with the Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau and two of its partners have extensive backgrounds in the ski industry. Prior to joining DVA, Mary Ramos was the advertising and direct marketing manager at Heavenly Ski Resort in South Lake Tahoe, while Justin Yax managed the public relations efforts for Ski Lake Tahoe and several individual Lake Tahoe ski resorts.
