What do you do? Any special talents? |
Officially I am a senior account manager with NPG of Oregon, the company that operates KTVZ-NBC, KFXO-Fox, NTVZ-CW, and KQRE-Telemundo. What that means is that I sell advertising. As for special talents, I can tell the difference between an 18th Century gentlemen’s waistcoat button and a 19th Century imitation. Yes, my hobby is collecting antique clothing buttons. Little pieces of art. |
How many years have you been involved with AdFed? |
My involvement with the Advertising Federation began in the 1980s when I worked through several positions with the Sacramento Ad Club, including Treasurer, Vice President, President and Show Chairperson. Back then I also was involved with the national and regional organizations. After dropping into the oblivion of commuting among major cities throughout California as Marketing Director for national companies, I am glad to be back into the Ad Fed fold of Bend, Oregon. |
What has AdFed done for you? |
I have found this organization to be a great way to network with folks who are the best at what we do. |
What do you do for fun? |
For fun I enjoy hiking, biking, and skiing – as well as my hobby of button collecting. I go to far too many button shows – and of course, I am involved in those organizations – as a Past President and current Treasurer. I also volunteer for various nonprofit service organizations. |

What 3 things would you like to have with you on a deserted tropical island? |
If I were on a deserted tropical island I would want a reliable manual on how to fish, hunt and identify edible plants. I might also like a fully operational and fueled airplane or boat to get me off the island whenever I wanted. And of course, the best of Swiss Army Knives to make myself a sun hat (and whatever other practical thing I might need). Gee, would an axe be better? |
